Upgraded Digital Experience for Corvera Airport Murcia Passengers

Supplied by Murcia Ministry of Tourism (Fitur)

Spain’s national airport operator has revamped its website to provide enhanced online services for travellers using Corvera Airport Murcia and other key tourist flight hubs around the country. Airport users can now access all services at airports operated by Aena with just one click.

In a press statement announcing the initiative, Aena said the aim was to satisfy the evolving demands of digital passengers. The new “responsive and user-centred” website is accessible and adaptable for tablets, mobile phones and computers. In addition, the contents have been optimised and the site has been designed to display “more intuitive and simplified” pages that integrate the operator’s market places, including Aena Travel and Food to Fly.

Also incorporated is the www.infocovidaena.com microsite, which was created at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and offers passengers updated information about safety measures implemented at Aena airports, recommendations and protocols for travelling (before heading to the airport, once at the terminal, on the plane and at the destination airport), and any flight restrictions – with links to other pages of interest.

In other regional news, Aena has announced that Corvera Airport Murcia will be adapting its facilities to incorporate more advanced inspection machines in the handling system for hold baggage, in accordance with regulatory changes established by the EU.

Showcasing Inland and Wine Tourism

Meanwhile, as Spain prepares to ease its entry restrictions for non-EU countries (including the UK) from Monday (7 June), Murcia tourism authorities took the opportunity at last month’s Fitur tourism fair in Madrid to highlight the main attractions that will be welcoming visitors when they return to the Costa Cálida’s popular resorts.

These include a new campaign to promote the “Reino de la Monastrell” (“Kingdom of Monastrell”) initiative, which brings together the region’s three main wine routes (Bullas, Jumilla and Yecla); and a “Cambio de Aires” (“Change of Scene”) promotion, encouraging tourists to visit Murcia’s inland villages and natural landscapes.

The region is also looking forward to 2023 as the “World Capital of Water Sports”, when visitors will have a special opportunity to enjoy the extensive and diverse array of nautical leisure activities offered on the Costa Cálida.
