Plans have been announced to launch a new weekly flight connection next summer between Corvera Airport Murcia and Porto in Portugal.

Speaking during an interview on Cadena Ser radio, regional president Fernando López Miras said the airport’s services were continuing to grow. “We have announced connections with Madrid and Barcelona, we have connections with the United Kingdom, Ireland and Morocco, and from next summer we will have connections between the region of Murcia and Porto.”

The route is scheduled to be serviced by tour operator Soltour, with return flights every Wednesday from July to September.

Depending on the season, Corvera Airport Murcia operates flights to and from 20 destinations: five national (currently Santander, Palma de Mallorca, Menorca, Oviedo and Gran Canaria, with Madrid and Barcelona added from this winter); and 15 international – London Gatwick, Luton and Stansted, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, East Midlands, Manchester, Glasgow, Dublin, Prague, Antwerp, Ostend-Bruges, Casablanca and Oujda-Les Angades.
