This week Corvera Murcia Airport managers have held top-level discussions with municipal tourism representatives to look at joint ideas to increase tourism in Murcia.

Talks between Pedro García Rex (councillor for employment, economic promotion and tourism) and Mario Gómez (development) and Mariano Menor and Pedro Gallup (director and manager, respectively, of Corvera Murcia Airport) addressed common projects that aim to promote tourism in Murcia on an international level.

The talks focused on how Murcia and the airport can play more of a role in the local tourist industry. Airport delegates outlined efforts to expand the existing routes offered and also to increase the number of passengers.

According to García Rex, “This first contact between Murcia City Council and the region’s international airport should serve to lay the foundations of future joint projects that promote Murcia’s tourist image internationally.”
